Description:

This session is designed for rising high school seniors who are in the final stages of determining where they will apply to in the fall. As this session is very hands-on, it is intended only for students and enrollment is limited. A laptop is required. Topics include:
· The Essay – Students will be introduced to brainstorming activities for developing a personal statement and will walk away with a draft in hand. Discussion will include short answer tips, common mistakes to avoid, as well as best ways to ensure that a student’s personality comes through.
· The Application – Students will be introduced to the various types of college applications, expectations and requirements. Students will establish online accounts and will be guided as they complete the Common Application while in attendance.
· Letters of Recommendation – Students will learn who to ask and how to facilitate the process.
· Senior Year Timeline – Students will learn how to put together a game plan for managing the application process.
